XP Pro. client PC - display has a permanent 'signature' at bottom corner of the screen. Changing themes or selecting a blank desktop won't get rid of the text from the screen ! Pls help.
Is it windows version? If so you need some tweaking prog.
You can fix it through registry as well, do the following:
1.Click on "Start", then "Run.." and type "regedit".
2.Navigate to the registry key:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop".
3.Once there, locate the DWORD
value "PaintDesktopVersion".
4.Right click on it and select Modify.
-Value equal to "0" removes Windows version from desktop.
-Value equal to "1" adds Windows version to desktop.
5.Reboot your computer.
Yes, it's displaying the version. What cause this change ? Users of this computers should not be able to meddle with this right ? What about windows update ? I want to make sure it's not caused by security problem. Thanks a lot for your help!
I tried editing the registry as suggested but the text still appears after reboot. The text on the desktop
'Windows XP'
'For testing purposes only. Build.....(Service Pack ..)'
