The worm has disabled my computer.. HELP!!!!

I also received the WIN32 shut down message last night. I
tried maybe ten times to log on to the internet and kept
getting the message and my computer would shut down and
restart. This morning when I started my computer, it
opened a screen that basically stated that I needed to
start Windows again and it gave me several options, Safe
Mode, Safe Mode with networking, Last Known Good start-up,
Normal, etc. When I try several of them, I get a
scrolling screen with many lines of text. On others, it
starts the Windows screen for about 15 to 20 seconds. The
end result of any of these screens- a screen that has the
following message:

STOP: c0000218 {Regisrty File Failure}
The registry cannot lead the hive (file):
\System Root\System32\Config\Software or its log or
alternate.
It is corupt, absent, or not writable. Beginning dump of
physical memory. Physical memory dump complete. Contact
your System administrator or technical support group for
further assistance.

I can I get into Windows to make the fix or apply the
patch?? Please help!! THANKS!!!!

Hi,

I have the same exact problem. I posted earlier today and
I got two responses.
1. remove hard drive and "slave" it to another computer.
2. Repair Install from the WinXP disc.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated,
