The word "zero" appeared in a cell.

Using XL2003, I was entering numbers into cells using the numeric
keypad. In one cell, I had meant to enter "3", then press "enter". I
mistyped [no idea what keys i actually pressed], and the word "Zero"
appeared in the cell. i am not sure what i typed, and have not been
able to reproduce this effect. The cell is formatted Arial Narrow. i
looked in Autocorrect and saw no "Zero". I am simply curious if anyone
knows what caused this.

Thanks,

Tonso

Check the cell's Cell Format to see if it has a Custom Format that is has
the word "Zero" in it.

Rick,

The cell is formatted "Text". After further investigation, I
remembered I have a macro I found at XLTips site that converts a
number to text, so 0 would convert to zero. The shortcut for it is Alt
2, so though I cannot understand how I might have invoked it, this
seems the only explanation i can think of.

Thanks,

Tonso
