The version has expired!????

I have installed the software and tried to run the program
and a pop up appear saying your software has expired on
the 31.7.05 pls contact Microsoft...How can it expired
when it is not the due date? Pls advise. Thanks
 
Go to Regional Settings in Control Panel
Click Customize button under Regional Options.
Click Date tab
Select the top item in each drop down menu.

I had the same problem as you, and for the same reason:
non-standard date format. I was using yyyy-MM-dd, ddd
so expiration was 2005-07-dd (Monday),
or something like that.

When I dropped the suffix (ddd) then the install was ok.

I like to see day of week in my file dates,
so I'll probably revert to the yyyy-MM-dd (ddd) format...
tomorrow, and see if everything
still works ok.

MicroSoft should allow yyyy-MM-dd (ddd) date format;
they allow you to use that convenient format, but then
this little bug crops up with their operating system &
their beta. BUG.
 
Definitely a bug, but I'd be wary of changing the format back while still
running the beta. Others have posted here that the beta has suddenly
expired, due to a non-standard date format.

I am certain this will be fixed in a later beta version, but can't predict
when we'll see that version.
