I've just installed AntiSpyware and when I run it or try
and get an update I just get a dialog box that says:
--------
This version of Microsoft AntiSpyware has expired as of
Sun 31/07/2005.

The Microsoft Internal Beta version of Microsoft
AntiSpyware has expired as of Sun 31/07/2005. Please
contact Microsoft for an updated version.

If you have your date format set to a non-standard format, this is the
result--check on the format you have set for date display.

Bill Sanderson regaled us with the following:

I think, perhaps, you mean "set to a non-American-standard format". There
are plenty of standard formats that are not normally recognized by MS
software...

Not quite. The program seems to do ok with several locales in which English
is the language, but changing the date format from the standard for that
locale seems to trigger the problem.

It is the kind of issue you are mentioning--i.e. myopia about the breadth of
settings worldwide--but not as simple as not accepting any non US settings.

(and I should say I haven't tested this at all myself--this is just from
observations in these groups.)
