There seems to be a documented issue with the sytem tray losing some icons
when Explorer crashes. In fact, some icons are lost without a crash. (I
don't mean that they aren't visible, where that just means that you have
to expand the tray to see them.) In some cases, when the icon is lost, so
is the functionality of the process it represents.
What I don't understand is why this happens to certain applications
repeatedly and not to others at all. Do certain application issues include
getting lost in the tray? Is there a way for the user to fix this? I have
tried systray fix, an MVP's offering, but it seems not to affect my
problem.
