THE SIMS AND DIRECTX

Hey, i've tried sooo many times to install the Sims and it's not working!
It;s coming up with the window saying that I need to install the latest
version of DirectX, which I did, but now even though i've downloaded it, it
still comes up with this messege...And when I try to install DirectX again,
it says there was an internal error, check Windows log, which hasn't been
much help.

I've checked my system requirements, my sound and video cards are up to
date, I have enough memory...I don't know what else to do! I'm pulling my
hair out!!

It says NVIDIA GeForce FX5200

Latest drives are at www.nvidia.com. The card should be fine for Sims 2, I
have an FX5700 and it works great.

Well I dunno whats up, i've tried so many installations i'm at my wits end!!
any other suggestions as to why it just WON'T download?!

There should be a file in the main Windows directory called "directx.log".
It will have information that a software developer can analyze to see what
the problem is.

There are a variety of solutions offered in this Knowledge base article that
might help if you're seeing the "this file is not signed" error.

ive service pack 2 installed and it wont let me update
from direct x 9.0 b to c so i cant play the sims 2 or
any other new game why is this?

Hi Nick,

The Final release of SP2 includes DX 9.0c. If you installed an
earlier version, you should repair Windows and reinstall SP 2.


How To Repair Windows:
Unplug from your Internet connection, and then repair Windows:

Afterwards, boot up your system, turn on your XP Internet Firewall,
plug back into your Internet connection and install all Critical and
Recommended updates from: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

That's what it says, and I have nooo idea what that means lol...Does anyone

How much space is available on your hard drive? It looks like a call to
IsEnoughDiskSpaceAvail is failing.
