I try to open a web with frontpage 2003 on my local IIS server (XP PRO) and
I get a message :

A Web Server at http://kenny-xp does not appear to have the Windows
SharePoint Services installed.
Kenny-xp is the name of my web. This was working fine at some point... but
all of a sudden it stoped working.
I have had this problem a long time and have not found a solution so I
cannot use system restore.

I have tried reinstalling IIS and frontpage with no luck. In the event
viewer I get the following error (searching through google did not give me a
solution for this, just posts about similar problems!)

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: W3SVC
Event Category: None
Event ID: 36
Date: 30/8/2004
Time: 6:57:48 ìì
User: N/A
Computer: KENNY-XP
Description:
The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC'. The error was 'The
specified metadata was not found.

HELP!!!!

Kenny,

I think you're crossposting this too widely. It seems to be a
pure IIS problem, so microsoft.public.inetserver.iis alone is
the proper newsgroup. I'd recommend to set a followup to that
newsgroup only.

Or are there any indications that IIS is working properly and
the problem is somewhere else?
