ASP 500 error with IIS (Class not registered)

I installed IIS 5.1 from my XP disc, it shows that the WEB server can start in IIS. But I even can't browse through the sample page in IE (http://localhost/iisHelp/iis/default.htm). It redirect to default.asp and shows HTTP 500 internal server error.
Under my testing, only HTML pages can be viewed in the web server, ASP pages will show errors.
And the event viewer shows follow:
Source: W3SVC
Event ID: 36
Description: The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT/IISHELP'. The error was 'Class not registered
'.
I have been working with this problem for a whole week, still can't work. :( Please help.

Did you check with the experts in the IIS and/or ASP newsgroups? As
this clearly had nothing to do with a Windows Network - especially
since your are using "localhost" - the only minute relation would be
it is using a Windows Network as a transport medium "if" that's "if"
the web page was hosted on another Windows PC and you couldn't access
it from your PC.

Thanks for your help.
I type "localhost" on my web host server. It seems no use for me to type 127.0.0.1 or computer name also.
Would you mind suggesting me where can I check with experts in IIS/ASP? I really get mad with that. I just want to move my ASP page from and NT to windows XP pro.

Yes, search the newsgroup list - the same way you found this
newsgroup.
