There's 3 choices how to show the comment.

I like "comment indicator only"

I see the red triangle indicator all the time, but the comment only if I mouse
over the cell.
 
Can you see the comment at all when you point at the cell? If not, try going
to Tools | Options | View. Set the Option beneath Comments for Comment
Indicator Only.
