The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link libra

I dowloaded and installed upgrades from microsoft for my
windows XP and I am getting the following error whenever I
try to run Media Player
"The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in
the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL"

Also media player once it gets running does not save any
files.

Any suggestions to fix this problem?

Try reinstalling the latest version of the Microsoft Data Access Components
(MDAC); your current installation may be corrupted:

Hi,

I was having a similar problem. My Media Player worked but my Outlook 2003 put that message up 6 times before it had completed loading.

I read all the newsgroup entries, I tried everything that was suggested but it didn't fix the problem on my compter.

I found that there was a very old version of MSDART.DLL in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\ole db" which I replaced with the version from the MDAC-TYP (MDAC 2.8 Update) which is version 2.80.102.0

This fixed the problem on my computer.
