Can someone please tell me which directory the
ntsokrnl.exe file is installed to during windows xp home
installation and what does the application do?
I have it in several directories and I think it is
causing problems.

By default it gets installed to C:\%systemroot%\system32.
If you have service packs installed it will appear in a
few other folders as well.

ntOSkrnl.exe is what stores logon screens, boot info,
etc. Most likely your problem lies in the boot.ini file.
