hello...
i created my own custom xp installation using nLite... and i only have 1 problem
i`m using Remote Desktop Connection to connect to another pc in my network.. it works perfect but then i try to map a network drive to that same PC and i get
The Network location cannot be reached
any ideas.. to how to fix this?
can it be related to:
DCOM or
Microsoft-DS (port 445)?
i found something that related to this problem.. they sayd to use nslookup and ping to check if the client points to the correct DNS.
nslookup prints:
DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
*** Can't find server name for address 192.168.2.1: Timed out
DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
*** Can't find server name for address 193.231.100.2: Timed out
*** Default servers are not available
Default Server: UnKnown
Address: 192.168.2.1
The primary DNS is 192.168.2.1 which is a linux box and the second one is the ISP's one... thing is all my pc in the network are setup like this so i`m sure theese 2 ip's are not the problem...
this is the nslookup output from one of the PC that works perfectly:
*** Can't find server name for address 192.168.2.1: Non-existent domain
Default Server: ns1.romtelecom.net
Address: 193.231.100.2
thanks
