The message can not be deleted from the outbox

I have a message stuck in my outbox that can not be deleted. I didn't even
try to send the message, but it is in there and the message body of the email
says "Message could not be Displayed" and that Windows Mail encountered an
unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for
low memory or low disk space and try again.

I do not have either. Unfortunately this is preventing me from sending
other messages. I have restarted my computer, but it still does not send or
delete.

Can anyone help me?

Download and install this hotfix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version
of Vista or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version first.
Certain common antivirus programs, such as most of those from
Norton or McAfee, tend to cause this and other problems in Windows
Mail, although seldom immediately, so if you have such a program,
remember where to find the hotfix and hope it will install again if you
need it again. A recent version of the Trend antivirus program also
causes assorted problems in Windows Mail.

Did you install the hotfix after you downloaded it? If not, it won't do
much.
If it refuses to install, try again with the version for the other bit
length, in
case you have guessed wrong on which one you need. If both refuse to
install, try the Vista SP1 update, but expect it to take hours longer to
install.

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/windowsvistasp1.mspx

If neither the hotfix or the update helps, you may need to try the
WORKAROUND
section of the hotfix description.

The hotfix and the update sometimes fail to delete the problem messages, but
should at least make it possible for you to do this, so try again if one of
them installs.

Gendam, click on the link above, it should open a Microsoft download site
for you, scroll down and select the 32 bit option, then select continue to
validate your copy of Vista. Install the Active X component if offered. Save
the file Windows6.0-KB941090-v2-x86 from the download option, also remember
where you saved it to!!

Then choose open folder when the download is complete, then click on the
downloaded file to install it.

The stuck messages should now be able to be removed.

Good luck. Get back if you still have problems?
