"The loaded disc is not empty..." with new DVD+RWs from ISOs in CDBurnerXP Pro.

Hello,

I downloaded Windows Vista beta 2 ISO (3 GB!) file from
http://download.windowsvista.com/preview/beta2/en/x86/download.htm overnight. I am trying to burn
the image to DVD+RWs (Office Depot brand -- 4.7 GB) with CDBurnerXP Pro v3.0.116.

I assume the HP DVD burner Writer 300c (USB; latest firmware) is compatible and works because I
have no problems adding and erasing files with HP's DVD burner software. However, it cannot write
to DVDs from ISO images. Hence, why I am using CDBurnerXP Pro.

I tried unformatted and erased (quick and full) DVDs with CDBurnerXP Pro, but it refused to burn
the ISO file to them. I also checked the ISO file with ISOBuster v1.9, and it looked OK (no errors
I guess since I could explore and read its readme.txt file).

Am I doing something wrong? I had expierences in burning to CD-RWs from ISO files without any
problems on my home's old Plextor CD burner and Nero. I am using Windows XP Pro. SP2 (all
updates).

What am I doing wrong? Am I using the wrong program or setup? Thank you in advance. :)

Does your burner support the type of DVD+RW that you're using? If it's a 2x
burner, it may not support 4x discs, and so on.

Yep, even on the external DVD burner drive itself it said DVD+RW. I am going to try a HP brand of DVD+RW that came
with the drive tomorrow and see if that helps. Its speed is 1X/2.4X. IIRC, the Office Depot brand was 2.4X in
CDBurnerXP Pro.

Also, I tried Roxio Easy CD Creator Basic. It detected the drive, but I don't think it can burn to DVDs? It's a
bit old (v5.3.5; 2003).

My DVD burner drive is: http://tinyurl.com/kqysj or
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...n&submit.y=0&submit.x=0&lang=en&cc=us&y=0&x=0
(must had misread the e as c).

OK, I think I fixed the problem. It appears that Windows XP needed a reboot (sheesh). Before that, I
tried a HP brand of DVD+RW that came with the burner, and that failed in both Roxio Easy CD Creator
and CDBurnerXP Pro. I was able to burn Vista ISO in both products and DVD+RW brands. :)
