The Invisible Computer

After establishing a VPN connection to a remote computer I clicked on view
Workgroup Computers. It did not appear so I enter \\edb on the address line
and was able to access the computer.

I'm sure the remore computer is configured to be part of the work group.
What else could prevent it frpm being displayed?

I was able to map drive letters to folders on the remote computer. I went
to Tools > Map Network Drive; selected a drive letter and entered \\edb in
the Folder field. Then I clicked Browse and which was missing appeared in
its worlk group.
