Hello Tim, actually if you look @ the text they wrote:

" will be the first thing to be turned off by any users who can find it within
the deluge of control panel options."

which means that the first thing an user would do will be disable the UAC,
therefore they know how to disable, they just review the lots of options
that control panel gives us now!

@ least that was what i understand from the text!

Funny! The article you cited has a timestamp of Monday at 11:16. Another
Inquirer article dated Sunday at 14:15 (link below) describes the leaked RTM
"prior to any actual official release".

So... Either: 1. You are correct; or 2. Vista was released unnoticed and
unreported in those 17 hours. I'm willing to believe either one, but one
scenario is much more plausible than the other! :)

Well it sucks that pirated RTM's are all over the place now in full use while
we paying MSDN customers have to wait till the 17th.

It's a lot simpler than that - click on icon top-right of start menu to get
your user profile and uncheck the use UAC box and restart. Makes you wonder
about the expertise of folks like Dean Pullen, the author of that review. :(

Nah...easier...msconfig...disable UAC...reboot.
First thing I do on All Vista installs.

Different strokes for different folks. ;-)
IMO for the novice, using msconfig is too complex and more likely lead to a
screw-up.

But then again, the real novice has no idea what UAC is. Best to learn
what msconfig is all about as there are many, many items in there.

IMO, Just FYI. :)

Soon as soneone starts up Vista for the first time they will have an idea of
what it's about..

But then again, just the more things to screw-up! Where does the novice go
to learn? Care to write an article about all the many-many items that can be
changed in msconfig, what each effects and how they may interact?

OMG it's Kevin in disguise. ;-)
