The final straw and MS screwups

Ok , I don't have great internet connectivity but MS is not interested and
nothing I have tried from all the helpful (not sarcastic) people on this
forum.

I gave up on that and what next???

Install Visual Web Developer. Ok now try to run. It wants to open FireFox.
I just installed VWD and had uninstalled Firefox about 3 days ago. I only
installed it since I was having so many problems with IE.

I have googled and MSN'd but to no avail. With all the problems I and other
have had is there anyone out there who thinks that MS is doing a good job???

A few flaws with a new OS and you think MS isn't doing a good job?
I'm sure it wouldn't take long to find 1000 products on the market with a
few flaws.
Trying a new OS less than a month after it's initial release is like trying
experimental drugs without the personal health risk.
There are so many different hardware vendors and configurations, and so many
different applications for IBM PCs, that MS could test for many years and
probably still not find every flaw if they test with 1000 PCs with 1000
different users at different knowledge levels.
If you want a stable, seemingly flawless OS, use one that's been around at
least a few years. There are very few reported problems now with WinXP. Go
back to DOS 5.0. We had very few problems with that as I recall. If you
want to be on the cutting edge, you can deal with a glitch or two.

Is Visual Web Developer an MS program? Did you try searching for it at
support.microsoft.com?

A "few flaws." Surely you jest.

Make sure that IE7 is set as the default web browser:

Start > Control Panel > put Control Panel in "Classic View if not already >
Default Programs > "Set your Default Programs" > select Internet Explorer on
the left and > hit "Set this program as default" on the right.

I don't usually do this but I have to respond to what was written

I don't remember when I bought this having a MS person tell me. By the way
this is kinda like using an experimental OS. It may not work. I am sure MS
does not think like you.

All apps that I am having trouble with are MS apps.

Ask the people who bought a PC with Vista on it if they wanted to be on the
cutting edge (by the way Vista is far from that).
Is Visual Web Developer an MS program? Did you try searching for it at

Yes Visual Web Developer is MS program. Been using it for a long time now
on XP with no problems.

Sorry but I have to set this straight.

How about this one? Lloyd installed Vista and didn't do a backup and lost
his data. Maybe we can say that Lloyd didn't do a good job!

Thousands of people worked on Vista for years and of course there are
bugs......

Do you want some Cheese with your WHINE?

Listen , since you won't give your name what I did was move all files that I
wanted to another partition. This was at the bidding of an MS tech. I
asked if the install would touch another partition and was told "of course
not".

When you have the guts to put your real name in print then say something and
it would also be good if you had some facts to tell.

Just putting down others gets nothing accomplished.

Nobody asked me for my name.

Do you remember reading in the license agreement that it would never crash?
Did your car come with an agreement that it would not break down? Many new
cars have even had bugs. Search the web for "recalls".
All apps that I am having trouble with are MS apps.
Which MS apps? Do you know how many apps are MS apps? Are you running the
same exact hardware as the MS developers? not likely
Ask the people who bought a PC with Vista on it if they wanted to be on
the cutting edge (by the way Vista is far from that).
Ask the people who bought a PC with Vista on it if they could afford a PC
last year, or if they could have waited a year to get a new PC, or if they
specifically ran out and bought one now to try out Vista. Then search the
web for PCs with other OSs. You can also buy PCs with no OS, and you can
still buy XP..
I'm not saying Vista is the cutting edge as if it's a great improvement to
XP. I haven't tried Vista so I couldn't say, but I haven't heard of any
changes worth buying it for yet. I'm saying the people using it now most
likely got it to be the first on their block to have it. It just went on
sale in the past month.
Yes Visual Web Developer is MS program. Been using it for a long time now

Is that a no then? You didn't bother searching MS support site for your
particular issue?

Lloyd,

Don't get your panties all in a bunch. I'm just f---in' with ya. You whine
about stuff that MS should have done, or shouldn't have done. I was just
bringing up what you should have done.

Having a good day in the neighborhood.
