Hi Guys,

Is there a way that I can find my posts more easily in this newsgroup in
Outlook? Because I have to search for my user name under 'Outlook/from' list
to see if there are replies in my posts and it takes few minutes! Or is it
possible to make my posts with other color? Any ideas?

Thanks

With OE, simply use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+H keys to toggle on and off
between your posts and all posts.

I thought I answered this earlier for you in another group. Try not to post
all over the place

You're welcome. Here's some other OE configuration tips that you may find
useful:

1) The sort order should be by descending order of date Sent. Click on View >
Sort by to change.
2) Click on View > Current View, then select "Show All Messages" and then "Group
Messages by Conversation".
3) Click on Tools > Options > Read tab. Enable "Automatically expand grouped
messages" and any other Read feature you desire.

By default, OE will only download 300 message headers at a time to your
computer. You can add additional groups of 300 by clicking on Tools > Get Next
300 Headers or click on the its icon in the toolbar (if present...customize to
change).

Check the OP's original post and you'll see where he's talking about newsroup
issues. Outlook does not do newsgroups...it uses Outlook Express for this
function.

Hi Peter,

You are wrong! In this post I'm talking about Outlook Express [obvious, you
can only read news in Outlook Express!!!] and In this post I'm asking if Is
there a way that I can find my posts more easily, that's why I started a new
post!

This is a new post and has nothing to do with the other one [Microsoft
Outlook]. The other post I was asking if it is possible to read news in
Microsoft Outlook and the indirect answer was no. So in here it couldn't be
that I'm talking about Microsoft Outlook!

Well then I misunderstood your request. I am reading newsgroups in Outlook
with Newshound on my W2K and I am also using newsgroups in my W2K3. Yes you
can set up in Outlook using Newshound. Works pretty good.

Yes Outlook does do Newsgroups with Newshound which is a 3rd party software.
I am using it on my W2K with no problems. I am also using OE with my W2K3 as
now. I did misunderstand his request since he asked for setting up in
Outlook which is very possible with Newshound a 3rd party software.I did
supply him with the link and I presumed that he is using it since he opened
another thread to ask more questions concerning this. He mentioned Outlook
(OL) and I presumed he installed the software.

It's not native to Outlook. NewsHound is an Outlook "add-in" and MAPI service
provider that adds the ability to read, create and reply to newsgroup articles
from within Outlook.

For those following along, see this link for more info:

Based on your previous post, you are currently using:
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.3790.1830

Hi Wayfarrer,

Excellent! Thanks very, very much......

I've found that many new users will use the term "Outlook" when they are really
referring to "Outlook Express". One has to read between the lines, especially
when the query is off-topic in a newsgroup that deals with issues of the
operating system.

I tend to answer simple questions that are off-topic, but when warranted, I will
redirect the poster to the appropriate newsgroup, such as:

For OE6:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

or

For OL97/98/2000/2002/2003
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlook.general

His previous post was very specific to Outlook. And he got his answer

Yes, I read the thread of his previous post. It contained a lot of
misunderstanding. By hindsight, his query should have been redirected to the
Outlook newsgroup for proper handling. His question is frequently asked and
answered correctly there.
