The DSA Object cannot be deleted

I have a server that I bought off-line to reinstall for
another purpose, I forgot however to delete the NTDS for
that server in sites and services.

The server is now installed as something else, but the old
server name appears everywhere and I cannot delete it. The
error message says "The DSA object cannot be deleted" even
though there are no connections configured on it.

You need to use NTDSutil to remove to DC from the domain.
Look up Ntdsutil in the kb is will explain how use
Ntdsutil and also how to deal with the cannot remove dsa
object issue.I believe it involves going into Adsi edit
and modifying and attribute. It's in the KB...
