The "dreaded red x"

HELP!

A friend of mine is trying to forward an email with
graphics. She can view the graphics. But, when I receive
them they are blank boxes with the dreaded red x in the
left hand corner!
Here is what I told her to do:
Open Control Panel and click the Internet Options icon.
Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Multimedia
section. Uncheck the box in front of the Show image
download placeholders option.

That did not work!

Any suggestions?

Hi,
It would be best for her to save the images and attach them to new messages.
One attachment per message would be safest.
Multiple forwards get messy.
