The document map won't display the right headings!

Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with my document map, I'm writing a book and I want the
document map to show only the chapter headings. My chapter headings are all
bold, centered, 12 point Times New Roman font, and they're the only things in
the document with that specific formatting. As the map shows it now, some of
the headings are there, some aren't, and some completely different things,
like blank lines, are there too. Is there any way to make the document map
show just what I want, even though it isn't a premade heading type? Thanks
so much for your help!

As explained in your Word help file, and at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP051895941033.aspx
"Navigate a document with the Document Map", document headings
must be formatted with built-in heading styles in order to
display in the Document Map. You apparently have some paragraphs
that are formatted with one or more built-in heading styles,
whether or not you intended those paragraphs to be headings,
because they appear in your Document Map.
