Is it really as easy to use as they show? And as good?

I like Digital Image Suite 9...and yes it is easy to
use...the learning curve is practically non-existant.
Lots of new tools too, and 50 new filters (illusions).

I wrote a review when it was first released, if you're
interested it's archived on google:

My computer is only 633 with 512 ram. I see that they recommend 700. Would it still work with what I have?

I'm still using my old PIII500 / 256MB RAM...
WinXP SP1...and Digital Image Suite 9
functions perfectly. It's a little slow if I'm
working on an intensive project but that's
to be expected.

Thanks for the reply. I am using Arcsoft Photo Studio 5 & Roxio PhotoSuite 5 Platinum. They are both OK but am looking for something that will do a little better job. I see they came out with 5.5 photo studio but want another $50 for the upgrade. Roxio is allright but it is slow. Are you at all fimiliar with either one? If so how would you compare them to Digital Image Suite.

Sorry, but I don't use either one. I did have an earlier
version of MGI PhotoSuite (before Roxio acquired it)
and I found it to be a pain to use.

Several reviews are at this site:

John:

Maybe I haven't looked enough, but does DIS allow you to arrange your pictures in any ramdom order, or do they have to be by alpha, numeric, date taken or something else of MS choosing? And, will they stay in the random order when the file is closed or copied?

thanks

Hi,

This would be easier to do than it is to explain...
If you are interested in the program, I suggest
that you purchase it and give it a try. Microsoft
offers a 30 day return guarantee. I used the
service once and they even reimbursed me for
the postage.

Microsoft North American Retail Product Returns

Within a given folder, the images will be sorted
by number or alphabet. You cannot randomly
arrange them in the library. Reason being...the
images are not physically *in* the library...it only
logs the location (path) of the images on your
hard drive or on removable media.

For viewing...you can arrange by:
Date Taken
Date Modified
File Size
Image Size
Rating
Caption
File Name
---
Ascending
Descending

If you decide to create a Photo Story...you
can place the images in any order you desire.
