The device name is already in use

Hi

Hopefully someone can assist me with this issue. We have approx 75 users and
just recently when some of them try to access a mapped network drive, they
get the error 'the local device name is already in use'. The only way i seem
to be able to rectify the problem is to disable then re-enable their network
card. I have tried disconnecting then re-connecting the drive but i get the
same error. This error does not occur on any other drives

simon,

You surely had two machines of same name that is causing problem,Please
check your DNS server and delete multiple entries and same wiht DHCP server
also if u have one.
