Hello,

When i disconnect my phone from the computer, it restart itself.

In the event log i get the following:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000007f
(0x00000008, 0xf7810d70, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in:
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini022408-02.dmp.

Can you tell what the problem is?

If your machine is running OK otherwise...
and if the problem only occurs when the modem disconnects...
the problem could be due to a brief voltage surge causing RFI.

So it is not necessarily a problem with Windows...
you may need a phone line surge suppressor.

If that error occurs in other circumstances...
you may want to run a RAM test

Do you use the * safely remove hardware * icon ?

If your machine is running OK otherwise...

the problem could be due to a brief voltagesurgecausing RFI.

So it is not necessarily a problem with Windows...
you may need a phone linesurgesuppressor.

A surge protector does not address or solve RFI problems. RFI is
not a surge. And brief noise (also called RFI) does not disconnect
modems. Some other hardware may explain that unacceptable reboot. A
list of items that could even include other connections to that phone
line.

Nothing in a modem will create reboots. Premeptive multitasking
OSes will identify a failure, record that failure in a log, and work
around that failure. What can reboot a computer? The short list of
hardware is CPU, power supply, a small amount of memory, sound card,
video processor, and a few motherboard functions. Nothing involving a
modem would cause a system reboot. Nothing.

Meanwhile, phone lines already have a phone line surge suppressor
installed by the telco, for free.
When i disconnect my phone from the computer, it restart itself.
.... provides too few details for any useful answer. Example, has
modem made a connection when disconnect causes a reboot. Or is
'disconnect' an unplugged wire? Or is disconnect power removal? Does
disconnect coincide with a static electric discharge?
