The arrow on shortcut Icons

I have my XP set to classic style. The shortcuts which I create myself
have the little arrow in the lower left corner to indicate that they
are shortcuts.

However the shortcuts that XP provides are not currently so indicated.
Is there a way to give them the shortcut arrow also?

stan, sorry to jump on your thread. it happens that I have the opposite
prob. I want to make the shortcut arrows go away. May be someone can help us
both.

If they don't have arrows they aren't shortcuts.

The Power Toys/Tweak UI add-on software you can get from Microsoft's
web site has an option to turn off the little arrows.

For the "missing arrows" problem, I'll leave that for someone else.
