I don't think the Targa format is recognized by
Windows. Maybe you could convert the image
files to something more universal like .png, .tif,
or even .jpg.
You can do a batch format conversion with the
excellent freeware IrfanView:

He has several files there that allow different files to
be displayed..which is great as I use many different
files for my 3d programs.
