Text watermark for random sections

I have a 600-page Word 2003 doc, with 35 chapters that are separated by
section breaks. Page numbering is sequential. Headers and footers 'linked to
previous'. I need to add a Text-watermark to some chapters, i.e., sections.
Using Format>Background>Printed Watermark puts the watermark on all 600
pages.
How do I get this done? Thanks!

Don't use Format | Background | Printed Watermark. Do it the old-fashioned
way (see “HOW TO: Create a Watermark in Word 97 and in Microsoft Word 2000â€
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211324) anchored to a specific header.
You will first have to unlink that header from the ones preceding and
following it.
