Text to speech

What do I need to do so that the text in Microsoft Word is read back to me? I
want to be able to listen to the text in the document. I'm using Word 2003,
but information about earlier versions would be helpful as well.
 
With Speech turned on in Word 2003, click the Speak tool on the language
toolbar.
