Text & Text Box shadow problems

I am tring to create a text box with a shadow effect (black) and have black
writing in the box (which has no fill). Problem is I keep getting the text to
shadow as well as the text box. I only want the text box to shadow. I have
tried for days on this and i cant figure it out. any help would be really
appreciated!!
 
I had the same problem, but when I fixed it as you said, I am gettig a
coloured line around the edge of the text box frame. Any ideas how to get rid
of this?

Is the line colour for the text box set to none? Which version do you use?
