Can word search for specific phrases instead of each word
within that phrase? For example, I would want Word to
search for "Section 2.18," not "section," "2," "3." I'm
wondering if there's a way to program Word to look for the
exact phrase or modify the phrase within the document so
that the Find function will pick up only that phrase.

Did you try putting Section 2.18 in the Find what field? Worked for me.
