How do I search for a certain word or phrase in a word document?

I have a long MS word document and I need to find a certain word or phrase in
it. I know there must be a way to search within a document for the word or
phrase, but I don't know how to do it. I tried "help" but couldn't come up
with anything. Thanks for your help!

Have you tried the Find function? Look up "Find and replace text or other
items" in the Help for assistance on this functions capabilities.

I'n not quite sure what kind of phrase or word you search for but if you are
for example looking foor the phrase "how do i find a word". Use CRTL-F and in
the search field put "how do i find a word". With the quotes. If you are
looking for a phrase which start with "How do I" and it could end with
anything, use CTRL-F and in the search field put "How do I *". The asterix is
used to replace any word.

Maybe when you went to Help, you searched for "Search" instead of
"Find." (Do you have a Mac background? In Mac it's called "Search/
Change.")
