Text runs beyond margin in View/Normal

I am running Word97 on Windows98 Second Edition.

When I am displaying my document with View/Normal my lines of text run
by the margin markers and to the edge of the screen. How/where do I
tell Word to honor the margin?

Tools > options > view > wrap to window (uncheck)
