My problem is very simple, but is annoying me very much. I am typing i
dates, and I want them to show up as
2 May
3 May
5 June
etc., but excel keeps formating them as dates automatically, an
assigning them a year, which they shouldn't have, and abreiviatin
them, 5-Jun etc. I just want them to look the way I typed them, bu
when I reset the format to general it just shows the serial number o
the date. How can I make it stop automatically formatting them a
dates? Thank you

Hi
either format the cells prior to your data entry as 'Text' or precede
your entries with an apostrope. e.g.
'2 May

But why not enter them as dates and format them with a custom format
like
D MMM
