text gets cut in cells

when trying enter text in a cell (say the size of a
letter for example) the text gets cut; only the cut
version is printable, although the formula bar displays
the whole text. How can I get all the text displayed in
the cell (AND printed)?

Hi,

If I'm understanding you correctly, you need only widen
the cell (column) and/or set the text to wrap if
necessary. First, you can set your cursor over the column
heading (A,B,C) just on the line separating the columns
and drag to the right. OR you can position your cursor
there and double-click, which will set the column to
the best (maximum) fit for all text in that column or
go to menu Format--Column--Width and set the width

Finally, you can format the text in each cell to
wrap automatically -- Menu--format--cells-alignment-
check "Wrap text"

I hope I've understood your problem.

Hi
I have encountered the same problem. I think there is a limit on the no. of
characters that can go in a cell. My problem still remains unsolved.

Excel Help on "limits" or "specifications" reveals that Excel will allow
32,767 characters to be entered in a cell.

However, it goes on to state that "only 1024 characters will be visible or can
be printed"

To work around this limitation, stick a few ALT + ENTERs in at appropriate
spots.

The ALT + ENTER forces a line-feed and expands the 1024 limit.

How far is not really known. Just experiment.

Failing that, use a Text Box to store the text.
