Hello,

The text on my laptop's LCD screen are not sharp after
installing Windows XP. I tried with/without font edge
smoothing, standard and clear type. The text in Windows
2000 was really sharp and crisp on my same laptop. I
erased the hard drive and installed a clean copy of
Windows XP Professional. The text is now really bad.
Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

Thank you,
Don Leckie

Visit the support website of the manufacturer of your laptop computer,
search for the Windows XP drivers for your video adapter, download
and install them.

Afterward, right-click on your Desktop and select:
Properties > Setting and adjust your Screen Resolution
settings, then select "Highest (32 bit) Color Quality setting,
and click "apply".

Afterward, use ClearType to tune your monitor:

(click on 'ClearType Tuner Updated')

If it's not simply a fault with your laptop, try:

Right mouse click on Desktkop, pick properties. Tab: Appearance,
Button: Effects. For "Use following method to smooth edges", check box
and pick "Clear Type". This made my display (Toshiba) much better.
