Text form fields

I want to set the text form field permanently so that it does not expand or
subtract from the size of the text box as I'm entering text. It ends up
causing me time and trouble to have to tab the fields to the appropriate size
so that everything lines up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am
using Word 2003.
