Text field calculation

I have a set a field to add up a number of other fields.
This works fine but also want that total in another
field. I set the calculation to =text35 in said field but
I end up with the figure repeated for some reason. What
have I done wrong?

It might help if you explained *exactly* what it is you have done - as your
question ,as it stands, does not make any sense.

Cy,

Are you using form fields and is text35 the field holding the sum of the
other fields?

If yes, you can do this a number of ways.

You can use a REF field to repeat the contents of text35. Make sure text35
is set to calculate on exit. The REF field looks like this { REF text35 }
with the { } entered using CTRL+F9

or use your method of =text35 in another calculation field. Are you sure
the field you are using to repeat the information is designated a
calculation field? Again, make sure text35 field is set to calculate on
exit.

REF field worked fine but here's the twist. I have set
the document to print only what is in the form fields. As
a REF field is not quite the same as a normal text field
it does not want to print out. I have had to change the
final field calculation so that it is just a sum exactley
like text35. That works fine and prints! Next question
though is how do I take two different referenced fields
(or copied calculation in my case)and subtract one from
the other. If I do =text55-text36 and set the number
format to £#,##0.00 I end up with a figure that is text55
multiplied by 2! Odd I know but can't seem to sort the
problem. How my explanation is ok?
