Text Effects (that one has in Word) but in PowerPoint?

The URL that Echo S gave me was very very helpful and answered a number of
OTHER questions that I had not yet posed... the url he gave was:
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/ .....My question that I could not find in
the URL readout was: Does/could PowerPoint (in presentations of course) have
text effects as one can have in Word. In Word, I can write a sentence, i.e.
Give me your dog... go to -- format, then font, then click on text effects
and in the original sentence, if you wanted "your" emphasized, it would be
highlighted and then apply a text effect (glittering lights, or other) to the
word "your". I have not seen anyway this can be done in PowerPoint if one
wanted to emphasize one phrase/word/etc.. Can it be done?

PowerPoint doesn't have the text effects that Word has. You'll have to use
animations in PPT to apply effects to the text.

Also, in PPT, animations apply to all words in a textbox, so if you want to
highlight one word, you must separate it into its own textbox.

Glad to hear you're finding http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/ helpful!
