If you can see it in Print Preview, then the problem is between Word and the
printer, not in Word itself. Try disabling background printing (Print tab of
Tools | Options). Chances are that alone will suffice, but if it doesn't, go
into the printer Properties and disable spooling altogether (there should be
a radio button to choose "Print direct to printer" instead).

Suzanne, thank you so much for your response. I went to the
Tools-Options-Print tab and, unfortunately, I do have the Drawing Objects
box checked -- and still the printer will not print the contents of this one
text box. It is so frustrating!!
I'm printing a reserved seating chart for an auditorium for tracking
ticket sales. There are three sections of seats, each section designated
with its own text box in the document. The 1st and 3rd boxes are printing
out just fine, but the 2nd text box (right in the middle of the other two),
keeps printing out blank.
If I highlight the contents themselves and print it as "selection" in the
print options, then the contents themselves will print out. So, I know the
document recognizes the data is there, and the printer recognizes the data
is there. (And "print preview" shows the data is there.) But if I print
the whole document, that box still comes out blank.
