Text box borders

Sorry for the newbie question, but I am having a problem with a text box border printing even though I have the no line option checked. It is necessary for the Fill be set to white to cover part of a line. Strange that the border does not show up in the normal view, but it does in Print Preview and when it prints out.

This happens when the textbox has a fill. The only way around it that
I'm aware of is to use an autoshape behind the textbox. Fill the
autoshape, but leave the textbox without a fill. Then go to View/Black
and White, right-click the autoshape, choose B/W Settings, and change
the Autoshape to "white."

Then again, ISTR that someone on this newsgroup mentioned another way
around this. I just can't remember what it was. :-(

I tried what I think your saying...but don't get the printing border you
mentioned.
However, after you make the text box, select it, on the very outside border
(so the size handles in showing). Right click and you should get a Format
Text Box option. Click the Colors& Line tab (usually defaulted to this) that
gives you Fill and Line options. Select "No line", and you should be good to
go. If you select whit and your background is not whit, it';; still show.
Try that...should work.

But does your textbox have a fill even though it has no line? It's a
common occurrence -- a textbox with a fill prints with a line when you
print in black and white.
However, after you make the text box, select it, on the very outside border
(so the size handles in showing). Right click and you should get a Format
Text Box option. Click the Colors& Line tab (usually defaulted to this) that

This just removes the line from the textbox itself. Lissjmc said he/she
doesn't have a line on the textbox.

But I suggested that the original poster do this in B/W View. B/W View
generally drops the background out so you have a white background.
Changing the autoshape to "white" in B/W settings doesn't change the
color version of the slide; it only changes the b/w print settings.
Try that...should work.

Hopefully, but I don't think it will.
