text/answer appears/linked when related object clicked

I'm trying to create a top ten list for students to guess answers (like
Family Fued, "The survey says"). I want to be able to click on answer 6 (a
textbox? or a picture of a 6?) to reveal the answer or text (another text box)
I tried to create 10 text boxes (the numbers 1 to 10) and 10 more text boxes
(with answers) and use custom animation so that when the number six was
clicked, the answer to six would appear ('with previous'). But it only
animated in the fixed custom animation order. Whatever number you click on,
number one and its answer appears first. Click again, and number two appears,
....
How can I reveal the answers in the order of my students choosing during the
Presentation?

What version of PowerPoint are you using? If you are using 2002 or 2003,
then this can be done easily with trigger animations. Animate each text
box and as usual, but after setting the Entrance Animation, adjust the
timing to animate on Trigger and pick the text box with the number in it
to be the trigger. (If you are using 2000 or 97, you might have to resort
to VBA.).
