Text and Text Box Editing Word 2003 SP3

Suddenly, whenever I try to edit text, like change a word's size or color,
the whole document changes and I have to click "undo" and then all goes back
to normal with the one word changed as I wanted. This happens with Text boxes
as well. If I have several text boxes in one document and I try to change the
size of text in one box, they all change and I have to hit undo. Any ideas?
