Is your Linksys a cardbus or 16-bit?
Does it work with other cards of this type?
In other words how do you know that the problem is in the cardbus adapter?

I purchased the Microsoft Notebook Networking kit with a
cardbus card and experinced the same problem, thought it
was a dud (I have a PC Card memorystick reader and it
works fine) and exchanged it for the linksys.(The Linksys
is the WPC54G.) In addition I have found numerous
articles on the Microsoft website explaining problems
with the Texas Insturments CardBus Controllers (MS
knowledge Base article 295629) But all fixes are for
other versions of windows before XP. They report problems
in the ACPI and explainn how to fix using the regristry
editor.
