Hello,

I need to change the template for the notes page of a PowerPoint
presentation. I tried Format > Apply Design Template and selecting the
PowerPoint presentation that has the notes page the way I want but it
doesn't work.

Is there a way to do this?

I'm using PowerPoint 2000.

Thanks

View | Master | Notes Master. Make your changes, close the Master, and save
it as a Template (.pot) file That way it will always be available for future
use for presentaions based on that particular Master.

I'm pretty sure that in PowerPoint 2000 the template for the Notes Page cannot
be transferred from one presentation to another. This was changed in a later
version (probably PowerPoint 2002). You'll need to open your new presentation
and go to View > Master > Notes Master and make the changes you want for the
current presentation.

Somehow I have it in my head that if you use File/New, the notes template
will carry over. If you just apply a template to a presentation using
Format/Apply Design Template, though, it doesn't.

Can't remember what versions that applies to, though! It may not work in PPT
2000, but it's worth a try.

In PowerPoint 2002 and 2003 there is an extra step that you need to take, I
think. It involves going to View > Notes Page and then to Format > Notes Layout
and checking "Reapply Master".

Oh, yeah, that could be.

I think if you choose a PPT file to apply as the template (instead of a POT
file), the notes/handouts master stuff may come along, too.

Dang. Too many ways to apply a template!
