How do i create a template on microsoft frontpage 2002 so that every
page on my website looks the same on the outsides, and it just varies
on the insides? (for example, if i have to add a new navigation bar,
i don't want to have to add it on every page, is there a way to add it
to one page, and it will change on every page on my website?

Use shared borders or Frontpage includes.

Regards Jens Peter Karlsen. Microsoft MVP - Frontpage.

I suggest you use shared borders - from Format > Shared borders. then choose
left, top, bottom, right and "All Pages" or "Current Page".

The only problem is initially you will have to apply the borders to each page
individually or to all pages in the site (depending if you want the menus or
whatever on every page or not). This procedure needs to be done either at
begiinning stages of site development or go through each page and apply the
border(s) and is unavoidable....but from then on, if you edit the menu section
on one page, the changes will be reflected on all pages.

Note, you have to have frontpage server extensions functioning with the shared
border component, and then upload the page you change the menu on....and the new
change will be reflected on all the others because the _shared/border.htm file
will "invisibly" be uploaded behind the scenes.

You can still use the shared borders without frontpage server extensions, but you
have to upload *every* page every time you make a change to the borders (and that
could be quite a lengthy task if you have a large site). the FP extensions enable
the job to be made easier.

Alternative is to use the Include page component, which is simple to use but not
quite as "uniform" as shared borders but are more flexible in that you can choose
which page to include and on which page(s), and not stuck with the "border" page
(by default named left.htm, top.htm etc).
