Temp folder

I am new to XP and when I go through My Computer to look
at and delete cookies,Temporary Internet Files, Temp
files and view the History folder, I see nothing but a
Dat. file in each folder. When I go through the Control
Panel, to Internet Options and view the folders, I see
all the files. To I have to go into the Control Panel to
delete the contents of my Cookies, Temp, and Temporary
Internet files? Would appreciate any help you can give.

You're supposed to go to control panel to do it. Are you sure you are viewing your folders and not another users.
