Telnet -what does it do and why is it starting automatically ?

Hi

Recently a dialogue box (DOS window) opens up for
Microsoft Telnet at logon / re-start.

What does Telnet do? What have I done to make it
appear ? How do I remove it from the start-up sequence ??

Any help appreciated !
 
Telnet is for connecting to remote servers. I would run a spyware/virus
scan and also look through the startup tab on msconfig.exe

If you are on a domain it's possible that the domain admin is running
something.
