Telewest are planning to upgrade their network to a single Internet protocol for its data, voice, video and business services. Cisco have are providing the hardware solutions to upgrade 14 regional heads and 64 hub sites to Gigabit Ethernet.

This upgrade should allow the roll out of TV on demand services, as well as the growth of business IP-VPN.
