Tech Forum

I've started a tech forum for everything from tech questions to general
computer talk (ie geek speak) if anyone would like to come over and join. I
have a few of these that I am a regular in for some of my hobbies and just
thought a tech forum would be great. I would love to hear some of your
opinions and any suggestions you may have on different topics.

I am not making any money on this or trying to push anything like that. As a
matter of fact if usage gets too high I may have to pay more for bandwidth.
But that would be ok.

Well now, that's rather harsh and uncalled for. If you don't want to go to
the link, don't go to the link. The MS newsgroups aren't the only game in
town, and I think the OP phrased his message pretty nicely and it doesn't
seem like he's selling something. Yes, crossposting to as many groups as he
did often irks people, but you can always ignore what you read in here, and
a polite correction/advice is a lot more useful than name-calling.

I by no means want this to replace MS newsgroups. I will still continue to
use the groups. Think of the NGs as a place to seek support and help from
very knowledgable professionals. Think of my forum as a place to just shoot
the bull, talk as if we were all hanging out enjoying a drink and just
taking it easy. As you know usually when "techie" people aren't working on
servers and all that they still talk about IT related things because that is
our interest. If you want to post a tech question on my forum, that's fine.
If you want to see who else in the IT world likes your particular sports
team, that's fine too. If you want to have the conversation of Linux vs.
Windows feel free to do that too. "laid back" is the word for my forum.

And I figured I'd irk a few people with the cross posts but I thought it
would be the best way to get my forum out there to as many knowledgeable
people as I could.

Since Yahoo! and other services already supply this type of service, why
would you want to duplicate that effort?
